Book one is a go and I've started with the top of my list, a book with over 500 pages. This was originally a bit daunting, as I trawled through Waterstones picking up books and flicking to the back to check the page count. I didn't want to be too picky because that's not really a challenge and I ended up torn between two books, the one I ended up buying and will begin reading and It's Not Me, It's You by Mhairi McFarlane. That sounded really funny, witty and just my sort of thing, it had tonnes of positive reviews and the cover is really cool too. But once again, a book that's "just my sort of thing" isn't the point, it's not a challenge. Maybe I'll come back to it for another point on the list, but it seemed too easy. So I went with The Diary of a Provincial Lady. A largely autobiographical book by E.M. Delafield, set in the 1920's. "Here we go, a different tone of language, something I'd not heard of before and a review on the back by India Knight, I'm gonna buy it!" I thought as I strode toward the till. Where I then had to wait for ages and ended up buying a sudoku book because I have no willpower.
Honestly I just wanted a photo with my tattoo in it.
Have you read anything over 500 pages? Was it any good? Have you read this?
